Coloring: Christmas Artist Trading Card, Part 1

I started doing some Christmas stamping and in particular doing some Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). This is an art form where you are limited to a 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch canvas It can’t be any bigger than that. Taller, on the other hand, is another story altogether. I’ve seen ATCs that were almost an inch tall. It’s not how I like to make an ATC so for right now you won’t see me making ones that tall, but since the only rule is the 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch base, push the envelope please.

In this video I’m testing out the time lapse so I only colored one of the elves. The second video will be the rest of the card and will show the finished product. This time I’m using Prismacolor pencils instead of my Polychromos. I tend to prefer Polychromos since I don’t get wax bloom, but when they seemed to work better on this paper than Polychromos. Not every pencil is best for every paper so make sure you test it out first and figure out what gives you the effect you want on the paper you’re using.

The images themselves are part of the Memory Box Christmas Elves clear stamp set.

Happy coloring!
